Artist Huang Hong's art transformation: from the wall to the body

The website of Huang Hong is hidden in the high-end residential area near the prosperous Guangzhou CBD. There is no typical luxury house standard. The underground and sofa are equipped with silk scarves and handbags with their own works. The concealment and pursuit of a painter is in sight.

More than three years ago, it was also in Guangzhou, the first night of a Chinese lantern, the first time I met Huang Hong. At that time, she talked about art as a young girl, art is a lover, she wants to show her the best side to him. Now she has a lot of labels on her body: painters, curators, educators. When talking about art, she is more like a woman who has entered a stable relationship. She has the vision, the pursuit, the independence and the charm.

After innovatively launching the “Danhong Art” silk scarf, Huang Hong said that she is trying to interpret a “art of walking”. This is her bold transformation in art over the past few years: moving the art on the wall.

"Danhong Art" silk scarf: wall art ran to the body

Huang Hong’s “Danhong Art” silk scarf has attracted attention from all walks of life.

This year's "Happy Boys" is the only designated prize in the top 15 in Southeast Asia. The famous radio host in Singapore, Mei Xiangjie, wears the "Danhong Art" silk scarf when she hosts the program; the Hong Kong clothing integration master uses the "Danhong Art" silk scarf to match it. Different fashion styles; business friends use the "Danhong Art" small square towel as employee benefits... The fans of the "Danhong Art" silk scarf are also urging Huanghong to produce the next series of products.

"Because I like silk scarves, but it is difficult to have a style that I like on the market, I think I can print my own work." Huang Hong made this silk scarf, just out of hobbies.

He studied at the Flower Painting and Birds School of the Chinese Academy of Fine Arts in Guangzhou, and studied under the masters of Fang Chuxiong and Zhang Yan. Huang Hong is an artist of “Zheng Zheng Miao Hong”. In 2014, Huang Hong's "Bloom Age" was selected for the 12th National Art Exhibition, which is the highest-level and largest national art exhibition in China.

"Art is not high, but should also serve life." Huang Hong, who always likes silk scarves, wants to make art from the wall to the body and become the "art of walking." Therefore, there is a "Danhong Art" series of scarves.

Holding the mentality of the trial, Huang Hong first customized four series of scarves. Mysterious and noble purple, romantic and unique, rich in art; the yellow-keyed peacock series expresses the bloom of life with full color; the blue iris series is inspired by the vast sea and the vast sky, quiet and elegant; colorful series The scarves are versatile and can be used in different locations to express different moods and feelings.

On the one hand, the silk scarf can make people feel smooth and comfortable, on the other hand, it can make more people appreciate the beauty of art. This batch of “Danhong Art” is very practical, and a silk scarf has different colors. Style, you can work with your own clothing color system, you can also carry out a bold color. Because of the large size, you can also wear a long-sleeved shirt or cheongsam.

However, such beautiful and practical scarves also encounter some challenges in the production process. "The biggest difficulty is the material of the silk scarf. Because it is printed by the machine, the material of the silk scarf determines the picture quality of the final product." In order to find the most suitable silk scarf fabric, Huang Hong asked the manufacturer to play more than a dozen samples and confirmed it. Hangzhou silk with soft texture and softer texture.

In addition, because of limited energy, the “Danhong Art” silk scarf is currently not mass-produced, only high-end customization. "These scarves followed me to the north and north, and I was my own image spokesperson." Huang Hong said with a smile: "Although everything goes hand in hand, I still want to stick to it. I hope I can find like-minded partners and promotion teams to let this walk. Art 'affects more people.'

At present, the derivatives of the "Danhong Art" series have included wallets, pillows, curtains, bedding and so on. Next, Huang Hong intends to expand the experiment and integrate the painting into more daily necessities.

International curator: Let more people recognize and fall in love with Chinese painting

In April 2017, the “Lingnan Painting School” Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts Teacher Chinese Painting Exhibition was exhibited at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Center. 56 paintings including masterpieces such as Guan Shanyue and Li Xiongcai were unveiled in Singapore, Chinese Ambassador to Singapore and Singaporean Culture. The Counsellor and others attended the opening ceremony of the painting. One of the biggest contributors to this massive sensational exhibition in Singapore is Huang Hong.

“Before I was in Singapore, I saw some works by rivers and lakes artists who were not able to get into the world. This is a great disrespect for Chinese classic art. In addition, the Chinese Lingnan School has a deep relationship with Nanyang, like Yang Zhiguang. Teacher Fang Chuxiong and others have also exhibited in Singapore. However, in recent years, many domestic painters have only stared at the domestic market, and international exchanges have become less. I think such an exhibition can break this pattern and let Chinese painting go abroad. More exciting presents to the world."

When Huang Hong put forward this idea, many people think that it is a fantasy. A woman who is usually addicted to painting and wants to promote a large-scale overseas exhibition of domestic paintings faces various problems such as government approval, personnel coordination, venue rental, and painting application. However, Huang Hong was not discouraged. While communicating with domestic painters, she used the platform and resources in the Singapore period to coordinate and prepare for the exhibition for more than a year.

This exhibition is not only an exhibition of teachers of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, but also a collection of the inheritance and context of the Lingnan School of Painting. It includes representatives of the outstanding achievements of the Lingnan School of Painting: Li Xiongcai, Guan Shanyue, and Chen Jinzhang and Yang Zhiguang. Liang Shixiong, Lin Fengsu and other older generations of works. Xiao Jianghua, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Singapore, also commented on the exhibition: "This large-scale, high-level exhibition should be displayed abroad, so that more people can watch and understand Chinese painting."

When the audience was very busy and the art was very happy, Huang Hong knew that his hard work was worthwhile.

“The exchange of paintings and exhibitions at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts is a timely rain. While promoting the traditional ink painting, it awakens people's understanding of Chinese painting. Let more people recognize and fall in love with Chinese painting. Promote Chinese painting and Chinese art, this is also as each painting. The responsibility and mission of the people should go through the daily life of our lives."

Daily life of the painter: painting, calligraphy, writing poetry

The birds and flowers of Singapore, the monks meditating under the Bodhi tree in Nepal, the cliffs of Taihang Mountain and the chilly winds... The yellow and red ones are all in one place, and they are integrated into their minds, and then combined with their own feelings to express them with a brush. Even if Huang Hong, who is enchanted by painting, is busy, he will not stop the brush in his hand.

"I have three things in my daily life: painting, calligraphy, and writing poetry." Huang Hongxi said.

“The artist’s inspiration is actually very strange. Sometimes when you see an item or a scene, you will want to draw it. The angle of the painter’s view of things may not be the same as that of the average person. First, the observation ability is very strong, and you can observe things before you can Become your own. Take a look around and learn from the best works or nature."

Huang Hong has always placed observations first, and through observation can better express a form of painting objects, a dynamic and a state. "For example, if I draw a chicken, I will integrate it into an environment. There is such a humanized thing in it, not that it is pure. I will draw it when I see it. I try to pursue that kind of agility. The feeling is that it has aura in the painting, and then you see that he will give you a feeling of movement." Huang Hong said when he shared his painting experience.

In addition, Huang Hong likes to make bold innovations in traditional art. The peacock-themed work of "Bloom Age" is inspired by Huang Hong's stunning color and wings stretch when the peacock opens.

In order to show the shock and brilliance of peacock blue, Huang Hong uses mineral pigments to paint, and then uses a gold foil technique to achieve a multi-form language aesthetic. The result is a beauty of publicity and strength. After the publication of "Bloom Times", many people were amazed at the visual impact of this painting, and no one believed that a woman would be so bold and creative.

Huang Hong’s expression technique completely broke the traditional painting method of Chinese painting, and also created his own unique artistic style – “Splashing ink and ink”, which is why it is called “Oriental Pollock”, and she is more willing to call herself “ Ink and Dan red."

"The times are changing. We can learn the techniques and essence of ancient painting, but it is more important to find a path that suits oneself and form our own unique style. There is no end to art. I also need to constantly explore and practice, observe and create from life. Finally, returning art to life, this is also my feelings." Huang Hong said. (Zou Xilan Yang Yajun Fan Jing)
