Pakistani textile minister holds a firm attitude against the ban on yarn exports
Pakistan’s Federal Textile Minister Rana Farooq Saeed told the media when he visited the Punjab office of the APTMA on January 10. Although he decided to ban Pakistan’s yarn exports, he intervened in the free market. The mechanism does not feel regret.
When talking about EU free market access issues, the Federal Textile Minister said that negotiations are currently under way. Once the EU has adopted free market access, the government will be ready to meet various challenges, including energy shortages. However, he mentioned that Pakistan will produce 15 million bales this year if there is no flood. He said that the cotton price this year is very attractive. Therefore, next year cotton farmers may expand cotton production. He said that the government decided to import liquefied natural gas to solve the energy crisis. However, he did not explain when the government began to implement this plan.
