Paul Smith's autumn/winter 2017 collection has a strong British flavour and has been cut to form a formal dress line with fabrics from well-known British weavers such as Lovatt and Hardy Minnis. It also features authentic British plaids such as Prince of Wales and Black Watch. .

The British style continues into the knitted items, the soft-toned Scottish cashmere sweater and the Fair Isle snow-weaving pattern all add to the texture and color of the collection. In terms of shirts, the brand's classic floral motifs and Liberty prints have rendered another British landscape.

Once again, Paul Smith subverts the classics and traditions in a variety of ways: in terms of color, bright reds and dark greens sparkle; the texture contrasts with stretch fabrics and soft silk and cashmere; and the cuts are broad and straight. The shoulders are fitted with slender lower body lines.

Printing was the cornerstone of Paul Smith and was also revealed in the new season. Colored feathers are the key patterns of the season. They are printed on silk tops, cashmere coats and leather goods using printing, embroidery and three-dimensional decals.
